  To add features like size change and others you can edit the CSS files in the pages folders. But if you want to modify the colors by default, open the variables.scss file of the theme folder, you could modify the colors variable.

  Thanks, but that's not what I meant. What is required, code-wise, to enable a user to specify the color (e.g., red, green, blue) or size (e.g., S, M, L, XL) for an individual item they want to purchase?

  You must add the specifications to the database. in the clothy_menu_item table you must add the color and size columns. Then you have to add in the detail view of the product an ion-select listing the different colors and another one for the sizes. the ngModel should be linked to the variable containing the product (this.item) so that the changes are saved when the command is added.
