  Is this updated for API 30? Can't put it on the Play Store it if it isn't, and needs the new permissions to set notifications. Also, if so, any plans to update so it can set ringtones per contact?

  yes it is updated up to API 31, so 31 is also included.

  Hi,
  as you can see in reskinning tutorial, you can change very simple:
  -sound names
  -sounds
  -colors
  -tab names
  -sidebar content and more
  
  Furthermore the project structure is build up very intuitive which allows you to change other things without much effort, if you have experience in programming.
  
  Hope you will realize and publish your own project soon
