Richie Feb 16, 2018Hi,
I had 3 sales on my item now I only have 2. Whats happened ? -
Richie Feb 16, 2018EDIT: I see it was a refund. Glad this happened now as I've only started uploading items, probably wont upload anymore because of this, unfortunately! Just too easy for guys to purchase, download the item and then request a refund.
Shame really! -
CMonica Feb 16, 2018Do you really think that this happens only on this website?
Anyway it is sad when refund happens, and maybe the site should upload in the policies for customer with which they should agree before buying that they wouldn't get a refund unless the item brought isn't the same as in description or it doesn't work -
Richie Feb 16, 2018Of course not, I realise that it happens everywhere. I have no problem with refunds if the buyer has a issue with the product, but first they need to contact the author and try to resolve the problem. No attempt at all to contact is just a blatant rip off to access the download and get their money back too.

CMonica Feb 16, 2018that's true

Richie Feb 16, 2018I'm going to make a suggestion on how to combat this issue. Would it not make sense to charge the "seller" maybe a $1 fee for seller protection on Codester, for every sale. With that $1, maybe Codester staff can post a receipt of the purchase to a buyers physical address, therefore the goods sold are no longer 'Digital' and a tracking code can be provided to paypal in the event of a refund request.
Any thoughts on this ? -
CMonica Feb 16, 2018i still think that before the buying is finalized there should be some terms on the page explaining the cases for which refund is applied and the buyer should mark there if they agree or not. If they agree the sale proceeds if not it stops. In the terms it should explain that the refunds will apply only when the items is not as it's described or it doesn't work, and that they should contact the seller first. If the seller doesn't respond to repair the problem in 1-2 business day than refund should be granted.
But this is only my opinion -
Richie Feb 16, 2018Yes totally agree with that, but that alone can not be legalised, which is the problem. Some will obey it, some will manipulate it. The postage thing I mentioned is a little bit of hassle yes, but it may be a way around proving to paypal that a sale was made and that goods have been posted.

@Richie: Are you sure it states a refund on your statement and not a reversed payment? Because we never handle refunds like you just described.
Like DatenshiBlue already mentioned, we should have been in contact with you. As we always give the seller 2 business days the time make fixes when an item is not working as advertised.
Reversed payments are mostly fraudulent payments made with stolen creditcards. If payments get flagged by our system, the download is not available until we manually reviewed the payment. They do show up on your statements.
Richie, just drop a us ticket in the help center if you want more information.
