Trouble uploading theme into Shopify

I just purchased the 'Pencil-Shopify Responsive' theme but when I try to upload this theme into Shopify and go in to modify the sections, I see this weird message stating that "This theme doesn’t support sections. Not all themes in the Theme Store include the latest customizing features yet." What does this mean and how can I fix? Please help!

Ok, have you unpacked the downloaded .zip file to see what's in it? There should be a documentation in there on how to install the theme.

If this is not the case you should contact the seller by leaving a message in the support section on the page of the item you purchased.

Thank you for your prompt response Frederick! I have unpacked the zip file but I do not see any instructions in there on how to install the theme. I will reach out to the seller to see if he/she can help. Thanks again!!!

Documentation must be in the main .zip file. Please check the directory "Guides" and open document.zip

Thanks Frederick. I spoke with the seller and they were extremely responsive and helpful. They said they would update their page to include documentation on how to upload as it was not in the zip file. FYI for any new novices like me, some Shopify themes when uploaded will not allow you to customize the theme under the 'Sections' area like with the themes you can purchase on Shopify. But if you look under the 'General Settings' section, you should be able to customize there. Overall, I was extremely pleased with both Frederick (from Codester) and the Seller of this theme for their excellent customer service!!!
